Jewelry boxes sure are’t what they used to be; now, there are watch jewelry boxes, earring jewelry boxes, and about any other kind of specialized jewelry box you can think of. There are a lot of very decorative ideas for the many different types of boxes. For her wedding day, my daughter got her bridesmaids jewelry boxes, and one for herself as well. She purchased a lot of things besides that, including her accesssories and reception supplies. All kinds of ideas are on there for weddings in a specific theme, or more standard, old-fashioned types of weddings. Prince Charming and his lovely princess was the theme that my daughter and her fiance went for. It was an incredible sight to behold when he stood waiting, in his majestic tuxedo as she walked down the isle in a dress that would have made Cinderella jealous. The ceremony was delightful. After the ceremony was over my daughter and son in law left the church in grand style with a horse drawn buggy and a driver dressed in a top hat and tails.
We all met at the reception hall which she had elegantly decorated with lovely flower vases and tulle draped in a carousel fashion with little white twinkling lights. The tables at the reception had silvery sparkles and wonderful flower arrangements, and the bride and groom table sat in front of an arrangement of red and white roses with ivy strung along an arch. The reception tables twinkled even more with the silver tea light dove place card holders she selected. Flower and crystals adorned the small jewelry boxes that each lady at the wedding got as a gift. For the men in attendance, a key chain with a frog prince on it was given to them as a wedding favor. The discount jewelry boxes for the bridesmaids had black velvet-lined interiors and were made of wood and sliver-plated. My daughter and son in law had each of them engraved with the bride and grooms name and date of the wedding. The thank you gift my daughter gave the girls was very warmly received. The jewelry box she got them looked very nice, but it was in fact a jewelry box and I had one like it myself for a long time. The men each got a commemorative inscription in a small plaque and a set of wine related gifts. I felt those were novel thank you gift ideas.
A tiny castle sitting at the top of the three-tiered wedding cake lent the cake a mystical appearance. She even found a cake knife set that matched up with her storybook theme and champagne flutes to go with it. Many of her decorations and supplies were top of the line, but she came in well below where I had expected on their wedding budget. We offered to pay for the wedding, since we are the brides parents, but they both insisted they could do it themselves.
The first dance for the bride and groom was like something in a movie, and it was very emotional for me. It truly looked like something out of a fairytale, just like the ball in the Cinderella story. The guys got so rowdy trying to catch the garter, during the garter toss, that they had me laughing to no end. My baby girl’s fantasies were fulfilled on a glorious wedding day,with all of her close friends and family members to share it with. They are off on their honeymoon, and I’m certain that it will be every bit as fantastic as the wedding. She promised to tell me all about the great places they went to while on their honeymoon, as soon as she gets home.
